Daily Routine With My Puppy

Starting our fourth week together, Isabella is almost 12 weeks old, and this is our current daily routine. The times are approximate, so ranges are given to show about when things happen. If we are paying attention she gets taken out to go potty about 20 or so minutes after eating/drinking, right after waking up from naps, if it’s been a while, and if she rings the bell hanging from the door. 

5:30-6:30 am she wakes me up to go potty. We come back to bed and go back to sleep.

7:00-8:00 am she wakes me up for real. I take her out to go potty again and give her water and her breakfast. During this time I’ll get dressed and wait for the kids to wake up.

9:00 am I take her on a walk for 30-45 minutes.

10:00-10:30 am I put her in her crate where she takes a nap for about 2 hours.

12:00-12:30 pm I take her out of her crate and out to go potty then give her a nice big lunch. For the next couple hours she’s either running around playing or chewing on one of her toys.

2:00-3:00 pm she lays down for another nap with the nearest sleepy kid.

4:00-5:00 pm she wakes up, is taken out to potty, and plays until dinner time.

6:30-7:30 pm Dinner time varies a bit in our house, but it’s usually sometime in this window. 

8:00 pm I put up her food and water bowl so she’s not eating and drinking too close to bedtime.

8:30- 9:30 pm she’ll lay down for a nap for about 1.5 hours.

10:00-10:30 pm I’ll get her up and take her out for one last pee before bed. She usually stays pretty sleepy and goes straight to bed when we get back in. She’ll stay asleep until she wakes me up to go potty around 6:00. A couple times she slept straight through and didn’t wake up until after 7:00 am, but that’s not currently the norm. Oh, and usually my husband gets home from work around 5:00 am, and she’ll wake up briefly for pets and belly rubs and promptly go back to sleep.
