To know wisdom and instruction, to understand words of insight, to receive instruction in wise dealing, in righteousness, justice, and equity; to give prudence to the simple, knowledge and discretion to the youth- Let the wise hear and increase in learning, and the one who understands obtain guidance, to understand a proverb and a saying, the words of the wise and their riddles. Proverbs 1:2-6

Answered Prayer

God answers prayer, even on the seemingly small things. A while back I was having something of an uninteresting issue, which is to say that I was somewhat down about the fact that I was fairly uninteresting and hardly ever had any adventures. So I talked to my mom about it and we prayed that God would give me adventures. The very next day, after the ladies picnic at church, my friend Megan asked me if I would like to go up to her parents house and get some raspberry and boysenberry bushes to take home and plant. Anyway, we ended up stopping on our way up there and exploring an area. We still have yet to more thoroughly explore the area, I look forward to the day we do. So all this to say that God answers prayer and he answered my prayers when he gave me Megan. Anyone who knows her knows that she is an adventure in and of herself ;-)

Writing a study guide. a few tips from my brother.

1. Write out, in a couple sentences, what the theme or main point of the chapter is.
2. Make sure all questions point back to and relate to the main point of the chapter.
3. Figure out a good number of questions for each chapter, ie. 10-15 questions per chapter.
4. Make sure the questions are spread evenly throughout the chapter and don't focus on, say, one paragraph.
5. Make sure only one question is asked per question and not five questions squished into one question.

My Favorite TV shows.

My favorite TV shows are those building shows they have on on Saturday mornings on PBS. The New Yankee Workshop, This Old house and Ask This Old House to name a few. It's just too bad that they happen to be on at a time when I usually want to be outside doing something. If only I had them on DVD, then I could watch them when I want to and when I have time. Holy cow!! I just found out that This Old House has a magazine! How cool is that?! Oh, my goodness, I think I'm in love or something....

My dream house.

If I was able to have my dream house I would probably have a farm house with a wrap around porch that I would remodel. I would love to have secret passage ways and secret entrances into rooms, like a book shelf that moves... that would be cool. But what would be even more cool is to have a library with built in shelves that went wall to wall and floor to ceiling. I would also want one of those ladders on wheels that was attached to the top shelf so I could reach the books up there. My families motto seems to be the same as Erasmus.. "When I get a little money I buy books; and if any is left I buy food and clothes." So, it wouldn't be too hard to fill up the shelves.

Apparently it's a winter project.

I wanted to build a planter box to grow my vegetables in. I was hoping to build it in late summer so I could grow a small winter crop of sweet peas, lettuce and a couple others. But I don't think I have enough money to buy the lumber right now so I'm going to have to make it a winter project and, Lord willing, have it done by January. As far as I know it'll be 9'x3'x2'. I guess I should ask my land lord and make sure it's ok to dig up the lawn where I want to before I actually do it ;-)
